Favre, LeBron "What Should I Do", Parody

This has to be one of the funniest parody videos I have seen! I really thought SNL had the best with the Open Fly Jeans (http://zmii-urbantymes-sportsemporium.blogspot.com/2010/10/favre-open-fly-jeans.html) but this one takes the cake.  Brett Favre is the perfect athlete to do it to as he doesn't mind making fun of himself as much as the next comedian. Great look-alike starring as Favre makes it all believable. Check it out!

Allen Iverson No Mas?

Former NBA great Allen Iverson has been rumored in the last 48 hours to be leaning towards retiring from his beloved game of basketball, although his club has NOT been informed of such decision.

Iverson, 35, has been playing in Turkey this season for Besiktas Cola Turkey where the guard has posted averages of 14.3ppg &  4.7apg. Recently he suffered an ankle injury that could sideline him for 6-8 weeks, allowing him to return before the end of the season that winds down in late June but he has elected to return to the States and have the operation because he cannot endure the pain of the injury any longer. Speaking to HoopsWorld Iverson stated "Leaving the basketball world makes me sad, but sometimes we have to accept things like they are. I can say goodbye to basketball."

I'm not sure whether its the injury, his age, working in a foreign land for the first time in his career, alcohol, gambling, missing his family or just selfishness that has brought Iverson to yet another weird crossroad in his life, but the weirdness continues. I wish the man a speedy recovery and hopeful induction into the NBA/College Halls of Fame in years to come.

Al Davis...READ THE FINE PRINT

Ya know, I love the NFL and have always been a closet-Raider-Fan ever since I saw Howie Long dominate the defensive line, Marcus Allen make HOF runs look like practice plays and Jim Plunkett show what a team general should be on the field.  But those were the days when owner Al Davis made good decisions and ran a top notch business. Nowadays, adorned in his pajama type jogging suits and a front office that runs the team like Homer Simpson was CEO the Raiders have slipped.

After having the best season in some time and finishing unbeaten in their conference this season the off season has reverted right back to where the Raiders have been affectionately known to be. The doghouse of blunders!! Via twitter ESPN sports reporter Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Raiders Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha’s contract had been  voided because of a previously unknown option in his contract.  Because of that option being present, Asomugha may not be any longer in Oakland, and thus is headed for free agency. The aforementioned option, which many in the Raider organization didn't even realize existed, called for Asomugha to play more than he did the previous season so as to make more big plays. He didn't, and now will become a free agent unless the Raiders can offer him a comparable deal to the $16.8 he was scheduled to make had the Raiders read the fine print and kept the CB for the 2012 season.

Now a free agent Asomugha will certainly be courted by various teams for his services. Since being drafted in the 1st Round in 2003 from the University of California Asomugha has been named to the Pro Bowl 4 times. With 11 career interceptions he will wind up an even richer man and be able to spread his philanthropy for the various organizations that he so effortlessly tends to.
