Stevens Signs Top Dog Contract!!

Butler University has signed its man!! So much so that they signed him to a 12 year extension, although the University has been hush on how much the deal is worth. Brad Stevens has been the “Wonder-Boy” of college basket for the past three seasons as he has lead the Bulldogs to a 33 win season, a 25 game win streak and the only Division One team to finish undefeated in their conference this season. With that resume under his belt Stevens has been courted by numerous big name schools including the Deacs of Wake Forest, Clemson, and Oregon. Stevens has worked his magic all season with a group of kids that bought in to his program early and often.

Stevens answered the extension by stating “Tracy and I are thrilled and very thankful for the opportunity to continue to play a role for Butler University,” Stevens, referring to his wife, said in a statement. “We are already looking forward to the 2010-11 season.” Stevens was named the Horizon League Coach of the year for the past two years and also has set the national record for 3rd year coaches with 89 wins.

One of the early tasks for Stevens will be to keep Sophomore Gordon Hayward on campus and not allow the talented front man to escape to the riches of the next level, “The League”. Hayward offered the last mid court shot that bounded just back-rimmed to end the closest NCAA Championship game in 20 years. That decision will come later in the month before the April 25th date to declare for the NBA draft.
