CASH FOR CAM??
The NCAA is investigating Auburn QB Cam Newton and how he was recruited in reports of alleged allegations of recruiting violations. The Newton family has submitted financial statements to the NCAA for review after being contacted last month but stand firm that they have committed no improprieties.
Mississippi State reported the alleged violations to the NCAA upon information received from John Bond. Bond stated that he was contacted by a former teammate, Kenny Rogers, who took the initiative to say that he was representing Newton after the QB visited the school last December and his decision to sign his Letter of Intent. Rodgers operates Elite Football Preparation, a business designed to place prospective players at the schools they covet. Bond says that Rodgers told him that other schools had offered $200,000 dollars for Newtons services but because Newton liked the Mississippi State and Head Coach Dan Mullen they could get him to sign for $180,000. Newton later announced his signing with the school that wasn't even on his radar initially, Auburn, in late December after leaving the decision up to his Father. Now, in light of new developments it's understandable how Auburn stepped to the front of the line and was able to persuade Newton to become a Tiger.
Goodbye Heisman?? UNC is NOW off the hotseat and Cam just sat down on it.

Heisman Watch
Its that time of the year where we have reached the midway point of the season. No surprises so far unless you count the fact that Auburn would have a stud running it's offense and be undefeated at this point and the darlings of college football and Texas would fall out of the top 25, then beat a highly ranked team, return to the top 25 and then get beaten the next week by an unranked team that should not have even played a close game with the Longhorns. Other than that, no surprises. Now also about the midway point is when we start to salivate over who will be the next player to walk away with the coveted Heisman hardware. Below are the front runners so keep your eyes on them and hope that your front runner doesn't suffer an injury before Thanksgiving.
