T.O. Takes a Knee & Exits Season Early
Current Cincinnati Bengals WR Terrell Owens has decided to end his season and go under the knife. With the final two games of the season against the Chargers and the Ravens what better time to shut it down so that Ray Lewis doesn't get another bone shattering shot on you for the season and you don't have to witness the Rivers-Aearial-Assault in person.
After tearing cartilage in the knee two weeks ago during the early minutes of the Saints game, Owens traveled to Alabama and had the scheduled surgery completed this morning by renowned sports surgeon, Dr. James Andrews. All looks to be well as Owens has been Twittering away since out of surgery and his lips and fingers could once again move in unison.
Owens now finds himself in a rather precarious position where once again he will be a free agent this nearing off season as the Bengals (3-11) have not talked new contract yet. Owens produced numbers this year that could possibly warrant him another season in Ohio but who knows where he may eventually wind up as the old TO showed up once the losses started to mount as he again complained of coaching strategy and his QB issues. This season Owens posted 72 recepts, 983yds and 9TD's. These numbers allowed him to reach 2 of the 6 incentives that were included in his one year $333, 000 deal which raised his season salary to $2.3 million dollars.
