BUSH WILL RETURN HEISMAN

Saints RB Reggie Bush has decided to return his Heisman trophy award. After receiving much scrutiny by media and the NCAA the former USC player has decided enough is enough!

LOS ANGELES - JANUARY 12:  Reggie Bush of the USC Trojans announces that he will forgo his senior year and enter the 2006 NFL Draft during a press conference on January 12, 2006 at Heritage Hall on the University of Southern California (USC) Campus in Los Angeles, California.  (Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images)
In a statement released on the Saints website Bush stated "The persistent media speculation regarding allegations dating back to my years at USC has been both painful and distracting. "In no way should the storm around these allegations reflect in any way on the dignity of this award, nor on any other institutions or individuals. Nor should it distract from outstanding performances and hard-earned achievements either in the past, present or future."

Bush came under fire when the NCAA began an investigation into his eligibility based on gifts and monies that he accepted during his enrollment at USC. The investigations have cost the Trojans two years of wins, scholarship losses, a two-year post season ban and four years probation. The kid finally took the HIGH road. No word as to whether the Heisman will be presented to runner-up Vince Young, who has said previously that if offered, he will take the award.
