WAKE CENTER TONY WOODS SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY

Junior center Tony Woods has had his eligibility with the Wake Forest varsity basketball  team suspended indefinitely by Wake Head Coach Jeff Bzdelik. The coach has stated that he desires to give Woods time to handle the legal matter as well as keep his standing as a scholar athlete with out falling behind.

Woods was arrested on Labor day on allegations of pushing and then kicking the mother of his 1 year old child. The alleged victim, whose name has been withheld, is said to have suffered spinal injuries form the beat-down that Woods is charged with. After being arrested Woods was charged with Assault on a Female, Assault inflicting Serious Injury & Assault Inflicting Serious Injury in the Presence of a Child (so the 7 footer may have actually carried out this assault in front of the minor child if the victims story is correct). The media already has him doing jail time but in actuality, with him only being charged with 3 misdemeanors if he has a clean record he may only receive a strict probationary sentence, complete with anger management and domestic abuse classes, with him performing some community service at some basketball camps in his community so he can still apply to the NBA to be one of the many "baby millionaires" by next summer.

Woods has an administrative court date set for September 20 in Forsyth County, NC. There is no word of a legal rep at this point but I see an appointment being made with David Friedman, Joe Williams or Lock Clifford real soon by the defendant.
