Celtics Move On to Second Round
Led by "The Big-Ticket" Kevin Garnett the Boston Celtics played a complete game both at the offensive end and defensive ends of the court winning the Eastern Semis 4-2 over the Cleveland Cavaliers with a 94-85 win.
Garnett paced the Celts in the win with 22 pts. and 12 rbs. and Rajon Rondo added his usual healthy stat line with 21 pts., 12 assts., 5 stls., and 3 rbs. as he continues to mature in these 2010 playoffs. Paul Pierce finished with 13 pts. and Ray Allen on a bad night of shooting that seemed just that much off pitched in 8 pts. to close the scoring for the BIG 3 Plus 1. Tony Allen added 10 pts. to lead bench players including this posterization of Antawn Jamison.
After frustrating James in Game 5 the Celtics again put together a defensive gem against the League MVP until he and his teammates body language showed that they finally conceded early in the fourth quarter. James however did finish with a triple-double of 27 pts., 19 rbs. and 10 assts. causing many other ballers to wish they could have a bad game and finish with stats like that.
James having a hard time of it all evening whether from the defense he was swarmed by or the loyal-opponent-loving Celtic faithfuls
The Celtics now head into the Eastern Conference Finals against the Orlando Magic who are undefeated in this years playoffs after two seemingly easy first and second round series. The series gets underway Sunday at 3:30 on ABC (check your local listings.
