Rondo Trip-Dub Paces Celtics to 2-2 Series Tie
Playing like a team possessed for most of the game the Boston Celtics again showed their playoff power winning Game #4 97-87.
Rajon Rondo posts superb numbers with 29 pts., 18 rbs. & 13 assts. and helps to maintain the post season run for the Boston fans. Rondo, who played timidly in the blowout loss to the Cavaliers on Friday night came out this Mothers Day and showed why the Celtic front office decided to sign the kid to a long term deal locking his stay up in Boston for years to come.
Two of the big three played well as Kevin Garnett added 18 pts. & 6 rbs. and Ray Allen 18 pts. also before fouling out on a call that never would have been called in the tough Lakers-Celtics or Pistons-Bulls series of the 80's & 90's. Tony Allen playing for the foul-proned and very ineffective Paul Pierce came off the bench and added 15 strong points to the cause as well as much needed defense on the other end of the court, which is something that Pierce has not been able to add to the series thus far.
LeBron James managed 22 pts. in the loss which will undoubtedly bring back to life "Elbow-Gate"! The Cavaliers were able to make the game close late in the third to midway in the fourth but playing with confidence the Celtics were able to reestablish their defense and hold Cleveland at bay. Game #5 of the series gets underway Tuesday night 8pm on TNT.
